One night as I sat in my home all alone

Spirit spoke in my ear and asked me to dress

Saying go to the bar and answer God’s request.

Will you answer the call? Will you give it your all?

No questions please just do what God ask

I will stand by you. I will see you through, Spirit said

So I put on my clothes got into the car

With a prayer in my heart I drove out to the bar

Spirit had me sit by a man with a drink

He half turned and asked me How ya doin tonight?

I looked in his eyes and spoke from the heart

God sent me to tell you these words tonight

And softly I spoke looking deep in his eyes

Not caring if heard by passersby.

No matter were you are or what you are doin'

God loves you

He sent me to tell you with Spirit’s sweet voice

Don’t take your life. You have a choice.

God loves you

This moment hung there between him and me

I watched him crumble his tears set him free

His wife leaned around him and looked straight at me

Her eyes filled with tears as he whispered these words

How did you know this thought in my mind?

How did you know, where’d you come from

Only God could have known my plans for tonight

Only God could have known. I believe you are right

God sent you to me on this very sad night

God sent you to me now everything will be alright

So I slipped off the stool Trying hard not to run

And I drove from the bar my work had been done

Spirit came back to me filled with delight

Don’t you ever forget the lesson learned here tonight

Always answer the call Just give it your all

No questions please just do what God ask
